Do you promise your boss you will accomplish a task, and then not follow through?

Scripture instructs us, "It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay" (Ecclesiastes 5:5 NASB).

When asked to tackle a significant task, stop for a moment and think through if you have time to accomplish the work. If you can, commit to complete the task, and do it.

If you are over-committed, tell you boss what projects are on your plate, and you would be pleased to take over the new task, if you can drop something else. Explain your workload completely.

Then you will follow through on your commitments and keep your word.
