Do you improve the cash position of your business by holding back on paying your bills on time?

Scripture states, "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Do not say to your neighbor, 'Go, and come back, and tomorrow I will give it'" (Proverbs 3:27-28 NASB).

Often, we can be tempted to not pay our bill within the agreed terms, because we know the vendor will not press us immediately, or we know the seller will let the bill slide for a while.

However, we must be obedient to scripture. This means paying all invoices within the agreed terms. Don't string others out. If you can't meet the terms, don't promise...ask to change the terms of sale.

When you stick to a promise and pay on time, you will be in an enhanced position to bargain for the best prices and to ask for increased service you require. Your vendor will want to perform and meet your needs because you have done your part.
